Model Motorcars is very pleased to announce our association with artist Kerry Diehl. We are offering his Artwork to celebrate your model. As these portraits show, they are a wonderful way to remember the many happy hours (years?) you spent building your model.

Biography

Kerry, born in Washington, was raised primarily in Ohio moving to Florida as he entered high school. His artistic talents, which became evident at an early age, motivated him to pursue fine art courses while in college. In the mid 80’s he moved to Michigan with his wife and son while maintaining ties to both Florida’s West and East Coasts.

The primary inspiration for his work comes from the beauty of the Florida waterways and natural surroundings that have motivated countless others before him. His display of artistic techniques, abilities and attention for detail brought attention to his variable works and is what lead to the opportunity that fulfilled his boyhood dream of entering into the automotive design world. During this time he was privileged to work with and for the internationally recognized and celebrated designer, Chuck Pelly.

His immense passion for cars, boats, planes and the water inspired his creative juices to flow exploring and unleashing different forms of artistic attraction, division and worth. Kerry’s enormous oeuvre consists of watercolors, oils, and acrylics paintings, fine detailed model making, graphics, technical illustrations, photography plus computer imaging. In addition, he’s also extended his range of model making by perfecting and executing his models into giclee and graphic art designs.

Kerry continuously combines different and unusual techniques in order to obtain results allowing creative and exciting new artwork to be formed.

The process begins with the modeler submitting a photo (they can be sent either electronically or mailed) of the model and background. Also, Kerry has hundreds of appropriate backgrounds available. The “watercolors” are computer generated with Kerry’s artistic eye for details…notice the house seen through the windshield in the Rolls Artwork or the white paint reflected in the wet street in the Bugatti Artwork. After approval from the modeler, they will be printed by lithograph press on "matte finish" watercolor paper.

The price for an 8” X 10” print is $200.00. Larger sizes are available for an additional fee:
