Rivets

With our new association with Scale Hardware, we now offer scale Rivets in either brass or stainless steel. We will carry only the 1.0 mm as these are the most prototypical for 1/8" scale models. For smaller sizes check out their site. The Rivets really enhance the look of our decals and are handy for tonneau covers, safety wiring, etc.

MMLtd. Simulated Nuts Break into the Big-Time

Under the heading of “Too Much Is Never Enough” Andy Marks has sent us photos of our Simulated Nuts which he has used to enhance the transmission on a 2100-piece Promocom 1:8 1982 Ferrari 126C which he got from Brady Ward (http://www.scaleautoworks.com/Ferrari126C2.html). This demonstrates two things: 1. No matter how magnificent a kit may be, improvements can be made, and 2. Model Motorcars Ltd. will be there to help. We are delighted to add to the 18 pounds that this kit already weighs with our hefty Simulated Nuts (available in two sizes; get yours while they last!), and we find it totally appropriate that our “classic” fasteners have found their way onto a high-tech Ferrari.

Badges! We Have Badges!

No classic car is complete without some badges proclaiming membership in at least one car club, and MMLtd once again comes to the rescue with our new photo-etched Radiator Badges. These heavy (0.020”) badges are available in either brass or nickel-silver, so that the badges can represent different eras. These designs are taken from vintage national club designs which were used in the late twenties and early thirties. Continental travelers might have had several on the same car, especially those with homes in several locations around the continent.

Easily adapted from radiator mount to bumper mount with the addition of a small brass strap.

Part No.Z033 $15.00 complete set (nickel silver)

Luggage Latches

Luggage is a great accessory for any Pocher, and now Model Motorcars makes it easy to build with our new cast bronze Latches for suitcases and trunks. Some small blocks of wood, a bit of leather, and a set of our new Latches will be all you need to add some fitted luggage to your Pocher. Whether it is fitted to the trunk of your RR or Bugatti, or strapped to the running board of your Alfa or Mercedes, fitted luggage will add some excitement to any Pocher. And don’t forget, the Mercedes cabriolet can always be fitted with some luggage in place of the rear seat. Whether it is suitcases or trunks, attaché cases or gun cases, our new Latches will be just the thing to add realism and that all-important “wow!” factor.

Part No.Z026 $18.00 pair

Bell-Cranks

Available separately, these are the same bell-cranks that come with our new Alfa Axle. They are cast bronze and work with our new clevises with 00-90 fasteners. Just the thing for slimming down the brake hardware on a Pocher Alfa, but also dandy for all sorts of other projects. One never has too many bell-cranks.

Part No.Z044 $10.00 per pair

Levers

Another part from the Alfa Engine Kit...the cast bronze and nickel plated Levers. Can replace many Pocher provided stamped metal levers. 1/2 " long.

Part No.A032 $9.00 per pair

POLYCARBONATE SHEET

After years of ignoring the agonized pleas of Pocher builders around the world, Model Motorcars finally proves that it is not deaf to their needs, only a little hard-of-hearing. Instead of glibly advising our customers to “use some polycarbonate for the windshield” we are now offering 12” x 6” sheet (0.040”) crystal clear polycarbonate, perfect fit for 3/32” brass channel.

Not only is polycarbonate flatter, clearer and more scratch-resistant than the clear plastic that comes in the kit, but it is also easier to work with. Simply draw the shape you want onto the protective covering, score with a sharp knife, and snap over a sharp edge of a table. For tight curves, use a drum sanding bit in a motor tool, or file by hand. Our Model Motorcar Sanding Stick can polish the edges to look transparent—great for making door windows and Alfa windscreens.

Part No.Z040 $5.00 per sheet
