Tools Welcome to the MMLtd. Tool Page. A large part of the fun of building Pocher models is the opportunity to use tools of all sorts. Model Motorcars has been collecting specialized tools for over a decade, and in that time we have offered hard-to-find tools which were in our opinion indispensable for building Pochers. On this page you will find our classic Screw Starter, Sanding Stick, and Deep Throat, and now for the first time you will be able see the tools we use everyday. Pochers can be built without some of these tools, but not by us. We have come to see the collecting and using of tools to be a vital part of our enjoyment of this hobby, and we hope these tools will open new doors of pleasure and accomplishment for you, too.
An Amazing Adhesive!
Jorge discovered this amazing adhesive several months ago. He's been working with it before we felt confident enough to sell it. The results are in! And, we highly recommend it.. works like an epoxy in that it must be mixed, working time is 4 minutes, can be sanded in 15 minutes. It's creamy consistency makes it good for filling gaps. Hydrogen Torch
My favorite tool! I demonstrated this wonderful torch at the last Gathering and because of the interest in it...decieded to create a link with the manufacturer. This unique machine generates a Clean Pin Point Flame with temperatures up to 5000 degrees Fahrenheit. In operation the SRA H2O Welder uses low voltage electricity to dissociate distilled water into hydrogen and oxygen gases. The torch tip is a hypodermic needle. Drills Drills Drills There are several sizes of drill bits that are indispensable when building a Pocher model, so we have decided to add them to our collection of tools. These are the highest quality, longest lasting drill bits that we can find, and they are what we use on our own projects. #55—For drilling out the plastic before inserting –301, --302, or—303 Pocher screws. Put this drill bit in a pin vise and keep it right next to your screw driver and you will never again break a brittle Pocher screw. Can also be used as a clearance drill for 00-90 bolts. #52—For drilling a hole to accept a 2mm tap. With this drill bit, you will be able to drill holes which will be perfectly sized for 2mm threads. Can also be used as a clearance drill for the Pocher screws –301, --302, and –303. #46—For drilling a clearance hole for 2mm threaded rods or bolts. Keep this right next to your nut driver so that you can easily install fender bolts, body bolts and any other items that are attached with 2.0 mm rods or bolts. #60—For drilling a hole to accept a 00-90 tap. With this drill bit, you will be able to drill holes which will be perfectly sized for 00-90 threads, the size of our plated hex-head bolts. If you find that your tool selection is leaning toward the metric side of life, we have even added a few of those. No substantive difference from the above drills, but sized to make sense with other metric tools. 1.6mm—For drilling out the plastic before inserting –301, --302 or –303 Pocher screws. BONDINI SUPER GLUE We have the elusive Bondini! The miracle elixir that makes the MMLtd leather interiors possible is now available from Model Motorcars. Tired of prowling the back allies of south Florida in search of this hard-to-find super glue, we have tracked down the manufacturer. Thicker than most super glues but thinner than the gels, this stuff is dyn-o-mite when it comes to sticking leather to plastic. Impervious to most contaminants, Bondini is our favorite adhesive.
